There is plenty to see and experience for people over 55 in the vicinity of our small-scale luxury hotel. Whether you go cycling or walking, there are countless possibilities. For example, along the river Zaan with its industrial monumental buildings, via the dike with old mills, or along our 'backyard' Het Zwet, a popular nature reserve with special marsh birds and unique vegetation. In addition to walking and cycling, it is possible to participate in an organized boat trip. On the route you will pass beautiful villages and beautiful country houses. You are also not far from old fishing towns such as Edam, Marken and Monnickendam.

New hotel in old church
Since July 2020, our hotel has been located in a beautifully renovated church that is more than a hundred years old, in Wormer.
You will stay in luxurious hotel rooms that are fully equipped. In the nave of the former church building, which includes high stained glass windows, we provide an extensive breakfast and, if desired, a tasty lunch and dinner.
You can relax and have a drink on our spacious roof terrace with a view of the Het Zwet nature reserve, or by the fireplace in the atmospheric homely atmosphere of the former church building. If you wish, you can read a book or magazine from our mini-library.
The Valerius Boutique Hotel is located in the heart of North Holland, adjacent to the Het Zwet nature reserve and in the middle of the village center of Wormer. The environment is rural and rural and the hotel is around the corner from the Zaanse Schans and the world heritage site of the Beemster polder. Only a 20 minute drive and you are in Amsterdam or on the North Sea beach. Those who prefer to travel by train can travel from Wormerveer train station to Amsterdam Central Station in 21 minutes. If you want to cycle, you can rent a hotel bicycle, or store bicycles you have brought with you.
Interesting museums, historic places, villages or towns worth seeing and beautiful walking and cycling routes; our team can tell you all about it. We can certainly recommend a boat trip with a guide through the unique peat meadow area. And do you know that our hotel is centrally located in relation to several beautiful golf courses?
All rooms are modern and stylishly furnished using soft fabrics and sustainable materials. Each residence has its own unique interior and design. The rooms offer a lot of privacy, are comfortable and equipped with many facilities. For example, the rooms have a heavenly box-spring bed with high-quality linen. This ensures a good night's sleep.
The bathrooms are also tastefully and completely furnished with a walk-in rain shower, design taps and amenities as you would expect from a boutique hotel.
Those who love technical ingenuity can indulge themselves. For example, the light scene and the climate control come into effect as soon as you enter the room, without you having to do anything. Everything also turns off automatically as soon as you leave the room; comfortable and durable.
All rooms are accessible, even if you are disabled.
Food and drink
Food should taste good! Our snacks and drinks are both delicious and honest and where possible organic and Fairtrade. We want everyone to be able to enjoy our offer without any worries, which is why we also have gluten-free and vegan items on the menu. Do you have any dietary requirements? Let us know.
The world has to last even longer. Corporate social responsibility is therefore the starting point for us. For example, we use energy-efficient heat pumps and heat-recovery ventilation. In addition, many of our products have the Fairtrade, sustainable, ECO or organic label.
